"If there is a poor man among your brothers in any of the towns of the land that the LORD your God is giving you, do not be hardhearted or tightfisted toward your poor brother." Deuteronomy 15:7
The Wilson Park Christian Community Church Missionary Ministry strives to impact the church body and the community with needed and caring service that will encourage some wayward soul to unite with Jesus Christ as the personal Savior. A true Missionary has a deep love towards people's needs. Caring for and witnessing to others is an important duty of a Christian.

The Missionary ministry provides ongoing contact with members of the Wilson Park C.C church through visits, telephone calls, and a card in the mail when they know one of our members are sick and shut-in. The Missionary Ministry continuously seeks to save souls who are outside of the arc of the church walls by spreading the Gospel message of salvation through many relatable acts.
Our Missionaries reach out to the community by feeding the hungry and bereaved, providing school supplies for needy children, and providing clothes to those who may be without. We have been blessed with strong leaders over the years which include Deaconess Matlean Manns, Elder Elizabeth Wimbish, and Mother Jean Causion. |
Wilson Park's Missionaries have partnered with the SHARE Food Network for the past through 25 years, which provides access to healthy, affordable food to everyone in need. Numerous families count on SHARE each month for affordable, nutritious groceries that are offered by our Missionaries for purchase.
Monthly value packages cost just $21 and include $40-$50 worth of basic and healthy groceries, typically made up of 4-5 pounds of frozen protein products, 1-3 grocery items, and 8-9 pounds of fresh produce. |
The Missionaries are charged with the care of the churches benevolence fund. This fund is intended as a source of last resort, to be used when the family or individual requesting assistance has explored all other possibilities of help from family, friends, savings, or investments. It is intended to be a temporary help during a time of crisis or other hardship.
Criteria The stated purpose of the Benevolence Fund is to help meet a members basic needs, when they are in dire straits. Normally, these needs are defined as the following:

While many of our Missionaries grow more seasoned in age, the Ministry has also grown and expanded. The members are positive, prayerful and committed to the service of the Lord and His people. The current President of the Missionary Ministry is Sister Loretta Spivey Price. Under her leadership, the ministry continues to grow in grace.
